De Muur van Trump mag er van de Democraten niet komen. Weinig aan USA2021 verbaast nog, behalve dat iedereen het pikt.

Aan de Muur van Trump wordt op dit moment door de regering-Biiden $3 miljoen per dag gespendeerd – om de bouw uit te stellen. Aldus een rapport van de Amerikaanse senaat, hier besproken:.

President Joe Biden’s attempts to suspend or end border wall construction are costing taxpayers $3 million a day, with an estimated price tag of at least $1.8 billion, according to a new report authored by Senate Republicans.

Het denkwerk over die borderwall gaat bij de Democratische partij niet erg snel:

Biden on the day he was sworn in ordered his administration to halt construction and review whether to resume it. The halt was supposed to be for 60 days. Over 180 days later, no indication has been given on the results of the review and whether construction will resume.

Een gevolg is dat men in Texas de zaak maar zelf aan gaat pakken:

Authorities in Texas have begun arresting illegal immigrants along the U.S.-Mexico border on trespassing charges, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has blamed the Biden administration for the surge in illegal immigration and has put in motion his own border security plan to crack down on illegal crossings.

“Texas has begun arresting illegal immigrants who are trespassing in Texas or vandalizing property & fences. They are now being sent to this jail rather than being released like the Biden Admin. has been doing. We are adding more officers, National Guard & jails,” Abbott said in a tweet Thursday.

En ze worden ook echt opgesloten:

So far, at least 10 people have been jailed, with more on the way, authorities said Thursday. The detainees are being held at what had been an empty state prison in Dilley, Texas, about 100 miles north of the border city of Laredo, according to Robert Hurst, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The converted facility will be able to hold more than 950 people, he said.

Dat is van oudsher niet heel gebruikelijk. Een verzamelbundel journalistiek werk uit Rolling Stone (Holidays in Hell – PJ O’Rourke) van eind jaren ’80 dat ik laatst herlas gaf over hetzelfde probleem al cijfers die ons nu als ongeloofwaardig laag overkomen:

3200 Border Agents moesten in 1986 de hele grens bewaken. Cijfers? In ijkjaar 1968 vingen de Borderagents 128.000 illegale immigranten, in 1984 was dat opgelopen tot een miljoen. Per jaar. Toen waren dat vooral nog mensen die seizoensarbeid kwamen doen, dus aan het eind van het seizoen terug de grens over gingen. Succesvolle immigranten eisen nu na een tijdje gezinshereniging. Dat hakt er wel in, het enige voordeel  is dat men zo aardig schatten kan wat de grens ongezien passeert. Dat is nu een stuk meer, en er wordt wel degelijk nadrukkelijker gepoogd die immigratie tegen te gaan:

During the month of June, CPB put the number of border crossings at 188K, roughly 8% higher than the 180K recorded in May.

De regering-Trump was vorig jaar een stuk effectiever:

If that number is confirmed, the number of southwestern border stops would be the highest tally for the month of June going back 21 years. The record-breaking heat experienced across the border region makes the number even more remarkable. By comparison, last June, when President Trump was still in office, the number of border crossings recorded dwindled to just 33K.

Hetgeen neerkomt op ongeveer 300.000 per jaar. Wel stijgt het percentage van immigranten dat gevangen woirdt:

De Republikeinen zijn hier feller op dan de Democraten, dat was altijd al zo. Maar de lijnen worden dieper:

“It is absolutely absurd that Americans are paying contractors to guard metal gates that President Biden refuses to install because he wants to ‘study’ the wall,” said Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), ranking member on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Government Operations and Border Management, in a statement. “Stubbornly refusing to spend money approved for the wall is not ‘executing’ the law. It’s ignoring the law and ignoring the very real national security concerns posed by illegal entry across our very open southern border.”
Senators who produced the report estimated the administration has spent between $618 and $708 million to the contractors between Jan. 20 and July 15, and will ultimately spend up to $1.2 billion more to exit the border wall projects.

De regering-Biden heeft dit jaar pas twee dingen gedaan die voor het geheel van enig belang zijn. De coördinatie van de grenscontrole is overgedragen aan vicepresident Kamala Harris, en de regering-Biden heeft het gebruik van de term “illegal aliens” door rechters verboden.

A top Biden-appointed immigration official issued a memo last week directing immigration judges to stop using the term “illegal aliens” to describe illegal aliens.
In a July 23 memo titled “Terminology,” Acting Director of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) Jean King directed immigration judges to instead use terms like “undocumented noncitizen” and “undocumented individual.”

Dat zal het benoemen van eventuele Marsmannetjes die de Aarde komen koloniseren ongetwijfeld stevig vereenvoudigen. Allemaal even goed bedoeld als volledig zinloos:

“The phrase ‘illegal aliens’ has taken on a pejorative tone in recent years, and in response, some institutions have determined that they will cease to use it,” the Library of Congress decision stated.
“After deliberation, the meeting participants determined that the heading Aliens will be revised to Noncitizens.”

Maar goed, waar wordt die $3 miljoen eigenlijk aan besteed?

“The Biden Administration is paying contractors at least $3 million per day to guard steel, concrete, and other materials in the desert. At the same time, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has encountered over 1.1 million migrants along the Southwest border this fiscal year—a 20 year high. This policy decision raises significant concerns about the Biden Administration’s immigration agenda and requires both Congressional oversight and legislative action,” the senators wrote in the newly released interim report.

Maar de hoeveelheid aangehouden illegalen heeft de faciliteiten om hen onder te brengen zo zwaar overbelast, dat de regering-Biden hen nu gewoon binnen de grenzen loslaat.

Dit zijn ruim 40.000 mensen, waarvan niemand weet of ze met Corona zijn besmet, of volledig gezond.

After the Biden administration just started releasing apprehended illegal immigrants without an official notice-to-appear in court, just 13% are reporting to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office as instructed. Of the 50,000 migrants given ‘catch-and-release’ treatment according to Axios, this means that roughly 43,500 illegal immigrants are roaming around the United States.

Als je dat legt naast de federale hysterie over Corona, dan begint er wel iets te stinken:

Er zit in deze chaos overigens wel degelijk een systeem. Degenen die vrijgelaten worden moeten zich binnen een bepaalde tijd bij de immigratiediensten melden om hun immigratieprocedure te doorlopen:

“While individuals have 60 days to check in with ICE, many are proactively reaching out to ICE to begin their official immigration processing, including by receiving a Notice to Appear,” adding “Those who do not report, like anyone who is in our country without legal status, are subject to removal by ICE.”

Hoe dat te controleren, en hoe de ICE weet waar hen te vinden? Dat illustreert de schizofrenie van dit beleid als weinig anders: de regering-Biden weigert hiermee zijn wettelijke taken te vervullen. Waar men in Washington krampachtig probeert de stilte over te bewaren is dat de gezondheid van vooral jonge imigranten te wensen over laat:

Two additional whistleblowers have come forward, accusing federal contractors and senior federal employee managers at a Department of Health and Human Services migrant shelter in Fort Bliss, TX of mistreating children and telling them to downplay hundreds of COVID-19 infections among the children detained at the facility.

Sterker nog, veel Amerikanen worden daar letterlijk ziek van:

“Covid was widespread among children and eventually spread to many employees. Hundreds of children contracted Covid in the overcrowded conditions. Adequate masks were not consistently provided to children, nor was their use consistently enforced,” whistleblowers Arthur Pearlstein and Lauren Reinhold alleged in a federal whistleblower complaint filed on Wednesday, according to NBC News.

En dat op faciliteiten die speciaal bedoeld zijn om in de behoeften van slecht behandelde kinderen te voorzien.

As a result of the government using contractors with no childcare experience, federal detailees with no background in child psychology were tasked with interviewing over 5,000 children to determine whether they need special attention due to sex or labor trafficking, or a history of other abuse.

Dat leidt tot grote verontwaardiging:

We can only conclude, of course, that they’re killing people.
