USA2024 krijgt vaart nu ook door het pakket gevolgen van Joe Biden als de nieuwe president. Daaronder wat er aan de zuidgrens plaatsvindt.

Vorige week schreven we al over de humanitaire ramp die zich aan de Amerikaanse zuidgrens voltrekt. Vandaag liet president Trump een welgemeend ZIE JE WEL horen:

De crisis aan de zuidgrens is trouwens evenzeer een mediacrisis als een humanitaire en politieke crisis:

Video clips of massive lines of migrants waiting to cross the southern border have gone viral, even as the MSM maintains its eery silence about the growing numbers of children winding up in border detention facilities – aka “cages”.

Toegeven dat Trump al die tijd eenvoudig gelijk had, en het nu krijgt? Dat zullen we niet snel zien gebeuren, al zal men nu desalniettemin iets moeten gaan doen waarvan Trump dan kan zeggen: altijd al voorspeld”. Want de zaak is de regering-Biden nu al volledig uit de hand gelopen. Trump zet zijn campagne voor USA2024 er kracht mee bij:

As the border crisis unleashed by the Biden Administration worsens – even prompting the president to plead with migrants not to keep coming during an ABC News interview released last night – President Trump has returned for an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo where he laid into Biden for aggravating the border crisis by reinstating catch and release and rolling back other forms of enforcement.

Trump werd ook wat concreter over de wijze waarop hij indertijd de karavanen die door Mexico noordwaarts richting USA trokken had bestreden, die immers begonnen met illegale immigratie aan de Mexicaanse zuidgrens:

During the prime-time interview, Trump told Bartiromo that he and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) had fostered a “great relationship” (AMLO has been speaking out about the situation at the border, too, criticizing Biden for encouraging illegal immigration), and that AMLO and he had shared a joint interest in controlling illegal migration at the border.

Vrijwel tegelijkertijd was Joe Biden te zien bij ABC. Daar werd hetzelfde verhaal verteld, maar op een andere toon:

In response to a question from George Stephanopoulos about whether he had a message for the migrants, Biden replied: “Yes, I can say quite clearly: Don’t come over…Don’t leave your town or city or community.”

Beforehand, Biden dismissed the notion that he had somehow encouraged migrants to flood over the border with his rollback of Trump’s tough-on-immigration policies.

Even recapituleren. Tijdens USA2020 vertelde Biden dat de migranten konden komen als hij president zou worden, en nu smeekt hij ze weg te blijven met het verhaal: nu is niet het juiste moment.

Indrukwekkend. Heel presidentieel.

Earlier this week, Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that the administration is doing everything it can to dam the flood of migrants.

“We recognize this as a problem. We’re focused on addressing it. That’s just five steps we’re taking, and we’re continuing to evaluate what additional steps can be taken to address the situation at the border,” she said, riddling off recent administration actions, including adding capacity for health officials to house unaccompanied minors, or children who enter the country illegally without an adult.”

They’re doing everything they can to address the problem…except reviving the policies that worked just months ago.

Een ander groeiend Democratisch fiasco is de positie van gouverneur Andrew Cuomo in de staat New York. Zelfs Biden en Pelosi hebben zich al verplicht gevoeld zich er mee te bemoeien. Elk met de boodschap dat als het waar is Cuomo moet opstappen.

Biden:

After doing everything he could to avoid getting dragged into Cuomogate (some still recall the name Tara Reid) and making an official statement on the record, late on Tuesday Joe Biden said that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo should resign if an investigation confirms the sexual harassment allegations against him.
In what Bloomberg has dubbed “his most extensive comments about accusations made by several women against his longtime Democratic ally”, Biden reiterated his support for seeing the inquiry carried out but said that its findings could force the three-term governor from office.

Nancy Pelosi zong ongeveer het zelfde deuntje. Gezien de ontwikkelingen is Cuomo volstrekt kansloos dit te overleven, dus dat is de verstandigste weg.

Biden has said that Cuomo should resign if an investigation being conducted by AG Letitia James’ office (and being supervised by two lawyers, including a former federal prosecutor) corroborates his accusers accusations. Many others, including most of the NY Congressional delegation, have urged the governor to resign immediately. Cuomo, for his part, has said he won’t “bow to cancel culture” and refused to resign. Nancy Pelosi added her name to the list of politicians who called on Cuomo to resign on Wednesday, after earlier saying his accusers were “credible.” Notably, VP Kamala Harris has been quiet on Cuomo.

Nieuwe ontwikkeling

Lindsey Boylan, a former Cuomo aide who is now running for the Democratic nomination to be the next Manhattan Borough President, first levied accusations of harassment at Cuomo back in December in a twitter storm/and later a medium post. But it wasn’t until two months later, after Cuomo acknowledged that his office had underreported nursing home deaths (his only explanation was that it was a “mistake” which occurred during the chaos of COVID) and more accusers had come forward (one with an embarrassing photo depicting Cuomo with his lips pursed and hands on a young woman’s face) that calls for Cuomo to resign began.
While his staff struggled to quell the burgeoning scandal, the NYT revealed that Cuomo and his team penned a letter accusing Boylan of engaging in “political retribution” and circulated it among staffers and aides in Albany. The initial plan, according to the NYT, was to get women in Albany to sign it. Nobody actually did, and the letter was eventually shelved, meaning it never saw the light of day – until now.
At least one version of the letter included Ms. Boylan’s text exchanges with some of Mr. Cuomo’s senior advisers last year, in an effort to suggest that she was malicious. The Times is not quoting extensively from the letter, to avoid publishing character attacks that were not made publicly. The draft extensively disparaged Ms. Boylan and accused her of using her claims for “political retribution.” The letter pointed out that Ms. Boylan’s campaign consultant also represented a political adversary of the governor’s, and that Ms. Boylan was “supported by lawyers and financial backers of Donald Trump: an active opponent of the governor.”

Het is ondenkbaar dat Cuomo dit overleeft. Dat dit schandaal al tijdens USA2020 onder de pet bleef, zoals vele andere, is al even kenmerkend voor de staat waarin de Amerikaanse media verkeren. Dat werd nog eens onderstreept door:

Hetgeen ook verklaart waarom Fox News zo graag Trumps mening vraagt over actuele zaken. Trump is nieuws, en zijn mening ziet iedereen hem graag geven. De guerrilla die Biden/Harris gaat ondermijnen op weg naar de eerstvolgende verkiezingen komt goed op stoom zo. USA2024 is begonnen, of men dat wil erkennen of niet.
